L.E.S Artistes#61

KAKO UEDA

Kako Ueda is a highly creative and extremely talented artist who works within the realm of paper craft. Born in Japan, Kako Ueda uses a traditional medium that has been used for making stencils for the patterns on kimonos. Many of us create papercrafts that function as craft, but she takes this medium to a whole new level. It is hard to believe that the artwork is all cut by hand - the designs are so detailed and intricate. Kako Ueda is influenced by organic beings in nature, and how they are being modified by culture. She creates many designs of animals, humans, and insects within nature and how they interact with our always changing and evolving environment. VIA
