Little Boots: 'New In Town'

Victoria Hesketh, mais conhecida como Little Boots, já escolheu o primeiro single para a nova editora que a acolhe, a 679/Atlantic, e avançou alguns detalhes acerca do mesmo. 'New In Town' é o tema que surge após os borbulhantes singles 'Stuck on Repeat' e 'Meddle', e ambos vão fazer parte do alinhamento da estreia, intitulada Hands, que vê a luz do dia a 8 de Junho.

Este novo single, produzido por Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen, Kylie Minogue), promete a larga escala, uma vez que além do original da menina contará com remixes de poderosos como Drop The Lime, Alex Kapranos, A1 Bassline, The Death Set, Fred Falke, Semothy & Sheldrake e The Golden Filter.

Eis o devido discurso da adorada:

"I'm really pleased 'New In Town' is the first single, it's very bold and colourful and doesn't really sound like anything else out there so it was always my first choice. I wrote the song one of the first times I was in LA on my own which was a combination of amazing and strangely isolating...so it's about being a stranger in a strange place which is fun but also has a dark side, and someone showing you around and in the end just kind of letting go. I wrote the song with Greg Kurstin from The Bird and The Bee, who is an amazing writer, producer and musician, and although this is one of the earliest tracks we wrote together for this project I feel like it's a really good bridge between what people have heard alreadu and what they can expect from the upcoming album."

Stuart Murdoch: God Help the Girl

FINALMENTE! Bem podia dizer apenas isto (em modo de desabafo), tamanha foi a espera do "tal" registo da madame mor dos Belle and Sebastian, Stuart Murdoch, que finalmente, e repito o finalmente, tem pronto o seu projecto a solo, e em nome próprio.
God Help the Girl é o nome deste trabalho, que é uma espécie de banda-sonora (ainda sem filme), que conta com uma série de convidados (Asya dos Smoosh, Neil Hannon dos Divine Comedy, ...), e uma orquestra de 45 membros conduzida por Rick Wentworth.
God Help the Girl, tem edição via Matador a 23 de Junho, e tem lá dentro isto:

Arctic Monkeys Live DVD

O ano passado saiu o DVD, com a actuação dos britânicos Arctic Monkeys no Manchester Apollo em 2007, que teve a sua edição apenas na Europa, mas a banda recuperou o mesmo e vai lançá-lo agora em solo americano, com direito a brindes extra, ou melhor, uma série de faixas gravadas em Austin, Texas.
Este primeiro documento dos Arctic Monkeys ao vivo, realizado por Richard Ayoade, conta então com o seguinte rol de canções:

The Sounds ultimam novo Lp

Os suecos The Sounds, que há cerca de 3 anos entraram em estado de ebulição global com o seu Dying to Say This to You, estão a ultimar o seu novo registo, baptizado de Crossing the Rubicon, que sai para o mercado a 2 de Junho via Original Signal Recordings.

O alinhamento de Crossing the Rubicon ainda é desconhecido, mas segundo a banda o que se pode esperar é o seguinte:

“the band continues to deliver hook-filled songs full of the punch and swagger that helped bring the Swedish quintet from Helsingborg to the world,” and “presents a deeper version of the sound” the Sounds brought us the last time ’round."

Os Stereolab anunciaram ontem que entraram em formato freeze motion, sem darem dicas de quando é que voltam a carregar no play, e regressam às rotinas sonoras, deixando apenas uma série de reticências e as seguintes palavras:

Dear All,

As we recently made #51 with Emperor Tomato Ketchup in the Amazon 100 Greatest Indie Rock Albums of all Time we feel that our work is done for the moment.

We have had to cancel the last two shows that we were scheduled to play, apologies to all that had bought tickets, and there are no plans to record new tracks.

Duophonic are working on the release of Chemical Chords 2, we also have plans for a new Switched On and remastering of the back catalogue.

We are are all going to have a bit of a rest now after nearly 19 years and work on a few other projects.

The website will still be updated and disks released but there won't be any new Stereolab product for a while.
