Os Nova-iorquinos Stellastarr* deram-se a conhecer em 2003, com o seu homónimo de estreia que gerou um merecido burburinho, uma vez que ao primeiro teste o quarteto conseguiu a façanha de dar origem a um trabalho vibrante e personalizado, mesmo usando como referências os suspeitos de costume como Joy Division, Cure, e os vizinhos Interpol. Depois de um primeiro avanço bem sucedido, os Stellastarr* lançaram, dois anos após a estreia, o tépido Harmonies For The Haunted, desaparecendo (pufff) num ápice, e espontâneamente, do panomora musical após este.
4 anos depois, a banda liderada por Shawn Christensen, tem novo espécime (o terceiro) a caminho:
-"We've been in a transition period from our old label to starting a new label," .
- "We threw out most of the songs we'd written over the past year and decided to get more raw, back to basics. We incorporated more piano on the record than we used to, and we realised where our strengths were," .
- "It feels more liberating not having to answer to anyone," "But I found that I work better under pressure when you can't take things more comfortably. That said, we wanted to have control over the way we were released."
