Alexis Taylor e a matilha já escaldaram de tão forma sua Hot Chip que, e no seguimento do sereno e belo Ep com Robert Wyatt e Geese, e da compilação chill out 'Bugged Out' , resolveram abrandar o batimento cardíaco da sua música, e pelas palavras de Joe Goddard o próximo Lp da banda, previsto para 2010, será mais modesto e genuíno em tom, e não em criatividade (obviamente):
"we're kind of stepping things down a bit because we want to make this next album quite simple, gentle, focussed; just 10 or 11 tracks of really excellent pop songs that hopefully will become timeless classics.”
Continuing, Goddard insisted that while the album will still have a dancefloor feel, they will reflect the mood towards the "end of the night".
"They'll be club tunes but not the really banging ones," he added.
"But making songs like that always gives you the scope to do a really banging remix, which we'll probably try and do as well."
