L.E.S Artistes#20

CARL HAMMOUD

High levels of accuracy and a strong feeling for detail characterise the works of Carl Hammoud. While his paintings and subject matter suggest restraint and order they nevertheless depict the exact opposite – chaos. The settings lie somewhere in the borderland between dream and reality. His interior scenes seem to derive from typically public buildings associated with power and authority. But there remains something unreal about these spaces, which often lack human presence and display dramatic illumination.
