Fever Ray Album-Single
Já aqui tinhamos falado da investida a solo da ala feminina dos The Knife, o projecto Fever Ray, conduzido pela madame Karin Dreijer Andersson. Agora sabe-se que Fever Ray tem pernas, ou melhor, tentáculos para andar (mesmo estando a preparar uma ópera, juntamente com o seu irmão), e que o primeiro trabalho de Karin terá contacto humano a partir de Março, sendo antecedido do primeiro single, "If I Had a Heart", a expor já já a 16 de Dezembro....sob o selo de 4!!! editoras diferentes.
A madame tem muitas esperanças: "I hope that my newly found live band will make it to the stages next year. We are rehearsing and building something beautiful and brilliant." ...e nós também!
O vídeo, sob a batuta desse genial Andreas Nilsson, está a caminho...
Deerhunter->Atlas sound->Lotus Plaza
Primeiro entraram em cena os Deerhunter em 2007, seguiram-se os Atlas Sound, no príncipio deste ano, e os Deerhunter novamente, no término de 2008...agora seguem-se os Lotus Plaza. Se os Deerhunter juntam a família toda, os Atlas Sound isolam Bradford Cox...e agora é a vez do guitarrista da nave mãe ter o seu projecto a solo, de nome Lotus Plaza...mas desengane-se quem pensa que Cox não mete aqui o bedelho...pois Bradford aparece por aqui a tocar bateria...
A produção conta com a mãozinha de Brian Foote (Nudge), e o trabalho de estreia sai pela Kranky (obviamente) a 23 de Março.

Blur reunion is real!
Os Blur, e depois de muito e muito rumor, vão finalmente juntar-se...depois da última performance em 2000...para um concerto em Hyde Park a 3 de Julho de 2009.
Damon Albarn, Alex James, Dave Rowntree, e Graham Coxon voltam a encontrar-se oito anos depois, e resta saber se haverá desenvolvimentos... deste novo envolvimento.

Cathy Rich/Buddy Rich 'The Beat Goes On'
Buddy Rich is the greatest drummer that ever lived. My Grandad gave me a snare drum when I was teb along with a Buddy Rich live record that included this song. His daughter has Beatles hair, it's a damn good look.
Elastica 'Stutter'
Their coolness has not yet been matched in my opinion. I was once told off for playing Elastica at an electro night, I've not tried it since.
Laurie Anderson 'Sharky's Day'
My dad once played this to me in the car, I almost cried I was so confused. I used to laugh at him for liking it, now I realise I was the fool! Without Laurie Anderson the world would be in a much worse state than it is.
Amadou & Mariam 'Sabali'
We are labelmates with these two... there is a whole world out there. I think 'sabali' means 'sweetness'.
Fonzworth Bentley Ft. Kanye West, Andre 3000 and Sa-Ra 'Everybody'
Sa-Ra are amazing, Andre 3000 is the coolest man in the world, Kanye West has gone a bit strange and Fonzworth himself used to be P.Diddy's butler or something. What is not to like?
Slick Rick 'Children's Story'
Slick Rick is English, you can tell by the way he says "Nawt lawng agow". He made Snoop Dogg and Pharrell the men they are today.
Jamie T 'Salvador'
When I first heard this I went insane. It sounded/sounds like the future. I wish I loved the rest of his songs, sadly it is only this one that does it for me. But it genuinely changed my life when I first heard it. I listened to it non stop for weeks.
Herman Dune 'Not On Top'
They remind me of Brighton, the good times and the bad... mainly the bad.
The Modern Lovers 'Pablo Picasso'
A staple in any mix-video-tape.
Talking Heads 'This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)'
This is perhaps the most wonderful song ever written... so everyone covers it.
Cat Power 'Werewolf'
I think I have listened to this song a hundred thousand times, I will listen to it more still. She's the original Amy Winehouse and the reason that X-Factor girl sings the way she does.
